With the Bismarck Sea on one side and the Pacific on the other the currents vary enormously from day to day as the water rushes around the various islands. Tame (tameh) is the Divemaster here and he and the boat skippers somehow make sense of the currents and tides and put the divers in the right spot. There are several wrecks and WWII planes in the area but most divers come for the channels, where the larger pelagics hang out. Eagle Rays, Sharks, Tuna, Spanish Mackerel, Humphead Wrasse, schooling Snapper, Barracuda etc. The macro life is very good too and the famous PNG pygmy seahorse is a photographer’s ‘must-have’ shot. (Not that we actually got one). 
The mantis shrimp are quite tolerant of photographers so we managed to get a good shot at last.

The best place for taking photos of Anenome Fish was the Lissenung House Reef - 5 different species lived on this reef alone.
