When we returned to England in April we discovered that the country had just suffered the coldest & longest winter since the last ice age (or that's what they told us anyway). Spring had not yet arrived and it was late April before we experienced the colours on the trees. It is now late May and for the last ten days it has been almost constant wind and rain, so most of the blossom has been blown away.
