We only have 5 weeks to go until our big trip begins and have been spending most of the time in the garden and attempting to get fit by walking around the local woods ready for the hiking we have ahead of us. After living on mangrove islands for 5 years, the slight inclines around the city of Bath are giving us a mild case of altitude sickness.... oh well, I'm sure Mount Fuji shouldn't be a problem!

Trip up North!
Went up to Scotland to visit the 'rellies and stopped overnight in Cumbria to visit my aunt, uncle & cousin. They live in Kirkby Lonsdale - a beautiful historic market town.

Onwards to Clackmannanshire, to visit my gran who lives in Alloa, on the River Forth west of Edinburgh.
My aunt Lucy, mum & uncle Dave tackling my gran's garden. One skip, several dump-runs and 5 tonnes of gravel later, the garden was transformed and we were knackered!
Didn’t do much sightseeing but nearby is the National Wallace Monument, which commemorates William Wallace (think Mel Gibson in Braveheart) whose army defeated the English in 1297 at the Battle of Stirling Bridge.
I grew up in the town of Doune – which has a great castle featured in Monty Python’s Holy Grail as Camelot, Castle Anthrax etc.!)
