Whenever we take on a new resort it usually comes with a resident island dog or two. Cooper is no exception, but instead of the usual Heinz-57 mutt, we have adopted a pedigree black Labrador called Bella. The previous manager, Chris and his family are travelling around the world and so there was no way to take her with them at the moment. She is four and a half years old and having just read the book 'Marley & Me' we realise what a brilliant Lab she is (not neurotic, overly boisterous or completely gaga like some). She used to live off-site at the family home, but now she roams around the resort all day, hanging out at the dive shop, meeting the guests, chasing after coconuts...and hoovering up under restaurant tables at every opportunity!

She follows us if we go swimming or snorkeling and climbs up you when she gets tired...
The trouble is, she won't go in even though she is completely knackered, so you end up cutting your swim short and taking her back before she drowns. If Andy gets one of the boats in from a mooring, she swims round and round the boat until he drags her in. So, we ordered her a K9 Float-Coat and now she can't drown when she gets waterlogged and the handle comes in handy when lifting her into the boat!
