So, we are back in the Caribbean after 2 years away, but this time we are on the East side just to the right of Puerto Rico. 
From Tortola, the capital of the British Virgin Islands, we are a 6 mile boat journey south across the Sir Francis Drake Channel to Cooper Island.
Cooper Island is approx. 1 1/2 miles long by 1/2 mile wide. The tiny resort of Cooper Island Beach Club is on the North East side of the island in Manchioneel Bay. There are 5 private houses on island but the only full time residents are the Leonard family who run a small farm on the west side of the island.

The resort has been running for 28 years and has a very popular beach bar & restaurant. The BVI is the 'sailing capital of the world' so the majority of the business comes from the bare-boat charters that take an overnight anchorage on one of our moorings.
Sail Caribbean Divers have a outpost on Cooper and run daily dive trips to the wrecks and reefs in the area.
