Bellingham & Mount Baker

Anyhoo, off we go to Bellingham (which, according to the Washington tourism website, is the 'most visited' town in the region). Well, we drove around it, immediately out of it and then stopped for a beer in Fairhaven to discuss how the hell it got that tagline. We then realized that it is the setting off point for thousands of tourists going to Mount Baker and nobody actually chooses to stay there.

So, we decide to drive up to the Mount Baker National Recreation Area. Flagging after only an hour and wanting to turn back to a vineyard that we had seen en-route, we stopped at 'Grahams Bar' for a drink and a snackette. Dave talked to the barmaid who convinced us that the drive was well worth it, so armed with a map and a full belly we continued upward. VERY, very glad we did.
