East Sooke National Park - Dave in action!
Chris had recommended East Sooke National Park to go hiking so the next day we followed his advice and drove SW of Victoria. Wow, what a beautiful place… we walked through the forest until we reached the water and had a picnic on the cliffs above the bay. Down below we saw Sea Otters diving in the kelp and a huge seal just off the mussel beds.
On the way back down the trail, as Kath and I were yacking away, a boy appeared and ‘shushed’ us and said, “there’s a bald eagle over here”. Sure enough, there it was !
