We arrived in Seattle on Wednesday night and turned on the news to discover that airports were in chaos due to the UK terrorism arrests. Phew…. out in the nick of time!
Luckily, Dave & Kathy had already arrived in Seattle and had also missed the delays and baggage restrictions. So, we felt very smug when we met up at the hotel. Smugness soon dissolved however when I realized that we were actually booked at the other Red Lion hotel 4 miles away ….aaarrggghhh. While we waited for the shuttle to come and get us, we heard all about their own disastrous trip ‘downtown’ when in fact they were sent 20 miles in the wrong direction on the wrong bus by the dippy hotel receptionist and had to pay $65 to get back in a cab!
Walked all over the city, with frequent stops for beer, visited the REI flagship store (bought undies) and had some fantastic seafood.
