The ‘June Hong Chian Lee’ is a Chinese junk, originally used for transporting charcoal and now a luxury dive liveaboard. We met the rest of the guests at the beach - Jean & Linda and Guy & Louise from Quebec. So, with only 6 of us - we had two crew-members each and it felt like a private charter!
We sailed overnight from Patong to the Similan Islands and were woken up at 6.30am by the ‘rooster’ – Khun Chin (an ex-buddhist monk covered in tattoos) who slaps his bum and crows!

The next 6 days went a bit like this: Rooster wake-up-call, 1st breakfast, Dive, 2nd breakfast, Dive, Lunch, Dive, Cake & fruit, Dive, Dinner, Bed. Absolutely amazing diving, and food to match!
Mick, the cruise director and Keith both acted as dive guides and taught us loads about Andaman Sea marine life. The dive sites were incredibly varied, acres of hard coral, enormous granite boulders or bommies covered with anenomes & soft corals.
