Batam Sports

Went to visit the Harbour Master to see about diving but he could only offer shallow dives at the snorkel sites so we decided to give it a miss. There used to be a dive school on Batam that offered trips to the neighbouring islands but the owner/manager drowned so that was the end of that!

The main sport here is golf and since Paul lives right on the Indah Puri golf course, we gave it a go. (Well, Andy & Paul played while I drove the golf cart around, drank beer and took photos).

So, we have spent the days hanging out at the apartment, doing normal stuff like shopping & cooking and researching the next leg of our trip.

Web access is sporadic due to the daily thunderstorms that roll in and we lost it completely for a few days due to a lightning strike. Sadly, the strike also fried our Ethernet connection on the laptop so we’ll have to get a new part fitted at some point.
