Richelieu Rock - Clean-up part 1

We arrived at Richelieu Rock – the famous pinnacle dive site and staff from another boat immediately came across in their dingy. They told us that illegal nets had been found on the site and asked if we would help with the clean-up - each team doing a dive to remove them.

Arrgghh - soft corals and anenomes crushed by the nets.

By the time of our next dive, the other team had managed to get the nets off the reef and piled onto the sand, so Jean and Guy took lift-bags to get them up and onto the boat.

Khun Chin (the rooster) also joined us and with a few extra safety sausages, we got the nets up to the surface.
