After 2 months and 15,462 kms (9,718 miles) it’s time to return the van in Sydney. It has been a wonderful way to see the country and we have seen far more of it than we ever expected.
Having reached the Tropic of Capricorn on the west coast and almost on the East too, we just have to do the ‘top bit’ after the cyclone season, when we return in late April.
We stayed at the Footprints backpackers at first which was very close to Central station and a good base from which to explore the city. However, it was very noisy and they even used a Tannoy system in every room to make annoying announcements for Pub Crawls, Quizzes etc....god, we felt old. So we found an apartment in Lewisham instead (on OzStayz.com) 10 mins from the city centre, with a kitchen & free broadband!
