The Year of the Pig officially began on 18 February 2007, so “Kung Hei Fat Choy” (Happy New Year) to everyone!
The New Year Festival events run for weeks and I happened to be in the right place on Saturday and caught the traditional Lion and Dragon Dancers performing in a shopping centre. 
The Oriana cruise ship was berthed at Circular Quay today so a few thousand extra tourists were around, buying truckloads of boomerangs & didgeridoos at The Rocks open air market.
