Leaving Sydney, we drove west to the Blue Mountains. Sure enough, the eucalyptus oil in the air causes a blue mist effect in the valleys.

The Three Sisters – one of Oz’s most famous rock formations, named after an Aboriginal Dreamtime story in which the Kedumba people were losing a battle against their rivals, the Nepean people. Fearing that his daughters would be abducted, the Kedumba leader turned them to stone, planning to reverse the spell after the battle. However, he was killed before he could turn them back. (Good plan)
Drove in a big loop through the mountains, across the river at Wisemans Ferry and back to the Pacific Highway.
