Richard & Charmaine from Canada were also on our boat and thanks to them we found our local hangout in a great bar a few doors down from the resort. You had to rattle the metal security gates to get in, but they were very welcoming and had Fiji Bitter on draft. On Friday night most of the resort staff were there - dancing and having a good time, so it was no surprise when our DM looked like death-warmed-up the next morning. 20 minutes into the first dive we arrived at the exit point and there he was, hanging on the line doing his safety stop. So, we spent the next 45mins under the mooring buoy!

Buck from Scuba Diving magazine in the US and Shailina (hope I spelt that right) from Kenya (but now lives in London) were the latest additions to the gang and they found a terrific restaurant in another village nearby. So, we promptly cancelled our dinners at the resort on Sunday night and walked in the rain, dodging cane toads, to ‘The Bakery’. We spent our last two evenings there - terrific food and great company.
