Caught the Shinkansen to Kyoto – wow they are fast! The interior is just like an aircraft and it is so smooth, you could actually be flying. The service is efficient and impeccable (like everything in Japan) and the conductors even bow to the passengers when leaving each carriage!
Kyoto is considered the ‘most Japanese’ of cities and many women wear kimono as everyday wear. It’s a beautiful city and has a very traditional feel, with narrow streets and wooden houses.
