Hobart to Mt Field National Park

Had a problem with our battery not charging on the camper, so went to the Hobart Maui/Britz depot to get it fixed. The city has attractive Georgian architecture and the old warehouses are now trendy boutiques, wine bars and cafes.
Just past New Norfolk in the hop-growing area NW of Hobart is the ‘Salmon Ponds’. Back in 18-something, Salmon and Trout eggs from England were packed between moss and block ice (from North America!) and transported to Tasmania. Only the trout eggs hatched successfully and ever since then the ponds have been used to raise trout and restock the local rivers. Blah, blah, blah, blah .. blah - we only went for the pancakes!

The Albino Rainbow Trout were freaky
Mt Field National Park was well worth it, with lots of attractions in a small area - Russell Falls, Tall Trees etc.
