Then we went to the Sony building in Ginza as we were thinking about getting their 8.1 megapixel camera. But then we saw the new N2 camera on display – 10.1 megapixels ....ooooh….Shiny! Unfortunately it’s not released until November so we’ll have to wait until Singapore.
On the subway, whilst discussing how brilliant and efficient Japan’s public transportation is, the train suddenly stopped and we all had to walk to the front of the train to get off at the next station. The announcement was something along the lines of ‘accident/person/front of train’ and judging by the number of people looking down at the tracks, we suspect it was a jumper. The train suicide rate is so frequent in Japan, there is even a set rate for damages and the jumper’s family get a bill from the train company. If you jump in front of a Shinkansen bullet train, the bill is several million Yen!
That evening we had an arranged meal with the tour group at an Okonomiyaki restaurant (where you cook your own batter/egg pancake dinner at your table as demonstrated by Andy below).
